Susan has been training with Greg at PFS for 14 years! Listen to why she comes coming back for more!
PFS: How has PFS helped you the most?
Susan:
The education I get from him [Greg] every time I work out. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
I do a lot of activities that I never did before!
Obviously it’s to improve your health, and to learn new things all the time, but it’s a team of people. And the team comes together like a family, like a community. Not a lot of people are aware of everything they do for the community. And not having my own children, this is like a family to me, and they make me feel that way. There is always a group of people that you can tap into their knowledge and their motivation. You just walk in the door and you have 5 or 6 people asking you how you’re doing!
To me, its community, its family, its getting healthy, all of it, at the same time.
PFS: What would you tell someone who is nervous about starting their fitness journey?
Susan: I am probably the greatest advocate for that. I didn’t start working out until i was in my 50s, never really an active person, and was extremely overweight. It is more than weight control for me. You just have to start. You have to look at yourself in the mirror, whether its for weight reasons, whether its for health reasons, whether you want to combat something, you just have to get here and start. And to me, there is no better way.
I would never have thought that previously, but Greg brought a whole new world to my life. Now I don’t take a vacation or go away for the weekend without asking, what are we going to do? What activity are we going to do? It’s what you do with your life. You have to start!
I am an example that you don’t have to start when you’re 20. 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, whatever you are, if you want to move, you need a personal trainer, they will get you on the right track, I believe that.
For Brandon, fitness has been his passion for as long as he can remember. In high school he was a three-sport athlete and received a scholar athlete award in football. Later, he attended Arizona State University on an academic scholarship and received his degree in Kinesiology in 2004. When he was a junior in college, he started Personal Training and has since turned this into his career. Brandon is a natural teacher who is passionate about health, fitness, wellness, and life. Each and every day he feels blessed to be able to do what he loves most…help people achieve a healthier life! Working with his best friend and having clients who he considers to be his family is one of the best jobs he could ever wish for. What he loves most about being a personal trainer is helping his clients achieve what they thought was the “impossible”!
Brandon’s philosophy is that exercise and fitness should be viewed as preventive medicine. If one takes care of his/her body today, he/she will stay healthy for the remainder of his/her life. His main focus is on functional training that incorporates normal daily movements which strengthen core muscle groups and help deliver a functionally fit body. This body will then be efficient with all activities, from athletics to everyday movements.
